What are Clear Aligners?

Aligners are transparent trays aimed to correct the malocclusion. They are easy to use and can always be removed before eating and put on again. Introduced more than 20 years ago, aligners have become a popular orthodontic treatment modality among both doctors and patients.

Very seldom do aligners cause any allergies and do not damage the dental tissues. They are also almost invisible and removable, which makes them very convenient when compared with braces.

How do Aligners Work?

  1. The patient visits the dentist. At the initial examination, the doctor concludes whether aligners are suitable to treat this particular case

  2. Treatment begins with diagnostic images, photos and dental impressions. Data is sent to the laboratory to create a detailed 3d virtual plan

  4. After the doctor’s approval, a set of 3d printing files is generated. Each model is printed and represents a single treatment step

  6. Printed models are then vacuum-formed to fabricate the aligners. Each aligner moves the teeth around 0.25mm

What are the advantages of the aligners?

  • Transparent and invisible. No metal wires and brackets that could attract the attention of others

  • Comfortable to wear

  • Easy to use. Each aligner should be worn 20-22 hours a day, except for eating, brushing and flossing.

  • No health side effects. Aligners can be removed when the patient needs to eat or brush teeth.

  • Do not cause allergies. They are made of hypoallergenic materials, therefore they are suitable for everyone
